Attributed to Edward Nash, circa 1805 A Major of one of the HEIC Artillery Services, probably Bengal Set in gold frame the reverse with plaited hair Nash sailed for India in 1801 arriving in Bombay in May of that year. His work is reminiscent of that of Shelley and often has a yellow tinge and slightly brown shading as is evident in this portrait. The exaggeration of the eyes is also typical of his hand.
