English Oak Aumbry door, circa 1530, of superbly executed carving and design. It depicts a Ciborium within a Gothic arch, flanked by a pair of Dolphins. The spandrels to the top are carved with a bird on either side. The scaled effect carved onto the pillars is typical decoration for this period in England. This piece most probably served as a door to a niche cupboard cut out in a church wall to store valuable plate. The door has been reused and has later indentations on its back.
