Margot Fonteyn joined the Vic-Wells Ballet School in 1933. She became one of the principal dancers in Swan Lake,Giselle and The Sleeping Beauty and was elevated to prima ballerina. Her role as Aurora in Tchaikovsky's The Sleeping Beauty was considered one of her finest performances.
