Belgian black marble is extremely fine grained and can fracture just like glass, resulting in very sharp edges. Belgian 'mazy black' is a marble that has been exploited since the 19th century northwest of Namur and is an ancient stone of the Devonian period. It is considered one of the most pure of the Belgian black marbles.
