Bell-Chiming Mahogany Bracket Clock
c. 1910 England

The triple fusee movement with lockable pendulum chimes the quarters on a nest of 8 bells for the Whittington chime, or 4 bells for Westminster, and is signed for Frodsham to the dial.
The Georgian-style case with triple pad domed top has well-figured mahogany veneers. The sides have fretted wood arch-top panels backed in red silk, the rear door is glazed. The case is mounted with a brass carrying handle and stands on brass bracket feet.
The brass bound break-arch dial has a silvered chapter ring signed Chas. Frodsham, 27 South Molton Street, and serial number 2416.
The corners and arch have well-cast gilt spandrels. Above 12 is the fast/slow regulation, and a chime selection dial in the arch At 3 o'clock is a strike/silent lever.
