Cup has relief moulded portrait inscribed Königin Luise. Luise Auguste Wilhelmine Amalie (10 March 1776 – 19 July 1810) was Queen consort of Prussia.

The Antique Berlin porcelain factory was founded in 1761 by Johann Ernst Gotzkowsky, who picked up the pieces of the factory belonging to Wilhelm Casper Wegely, after it went bankrupt in 1757. Johann Ernst Gotzkowsky was forced to sell the factory to Frederick the Great in 1763.
