The break-arch case stands 16 inches high to the brass ball mounted on the concave section pediment. The dial is flanked with reeded quarter pilasters, over fish-scale material-backed frets. The sides also have arch fretwork panels, as does the rear door. The whole is mounted on brass bun feet.
The two train eight day movement is signed for Peerless, and numbered 208445, striking the hours and the passing of the half hours on a coiled gong. The name Peerless on a movement is an indication of high quality.
The silvered 6-inch dial has black Roman numerals within a minute track. The dial is set behind a hinged bezel fitted with beveled glass.
Blued steel hands.
