A rare small George III period 10 inch arched dial longcase clock

Five pillar twin train movement with deadbeat escapement, maintaining power, trip repeat and rise and fall regulation.

The wheelwork of good quality, with pivoted maintaining power fitted below and acting on the centre wheel. A simple trip repeat lever acts directly on the lifting piece, both levers operated via cords through the seatboard.

The deadbeat escapement with steel pallets, with rise and fall platform mounted across the top of the plates actuated via a cam on a bracket mounted on the side. The backcock fitted with brass chops.
(The backcock has been moved at some time upwards, most probably in order to fit pallets with a longer neck, so as to reduce the action of the pendulum and avoid contact between the bob and the case.)
The brothers John & Myles Brockbank made fine precision clocks and marine chronometers between 1790 and 1830.
