In richly patinated bronze, it depicts an heroic-looking youth, his arms raised in exultation, his head uplifted and a dead bird-of-prey in one hand, obviously significant to the scene.
The young man is naked but for a loin-cloth, the better to admire the fine physique full of Teutonic manly virtue.
The smoothness of his body also gives an effective contrast with the texture of the bird itself.
It was made in around 1890, is signed and is presented on a simple marble base.
