A superb figured burr walnut drum-head mantel clock dating to the Victorian period. It has a circular drum top and a scroll base and a thick bevel edge glass front and back door. The 8 day movement has a visible escapement that swings in time with the pendulum, and it strikes the hours and halves on a bell, made by Japy Frere and retailed by the well known Paris maker Henri Marc. The movement bears a medal stamp dated 1855. If you would like a video clip of this clock ticking and striking please email us.
The case is in excellent original condition, the movement has been serviced in our own workshops and is guaranteed for 12 months within the UK. The enamel chapter ring has several hairline marks (see images)
