Pearlware Dishes where individual lengths of pearlware strands anchored to the rim and the base provide the frame. A central support. is threaded through the stands. A close image of a Basket with Stand is seen in the ^Castleford Pottery Pattern Book,pattern 106.

A similar basket is illustrated in *Hughes plate 22 'Fruit Basket in white earthenware its base moulded in relief Newcastle upon Tyne,first half of the nineteenth-century'.

Roussel p27 and plate 47b shows the Chinese Soup Plate held to be the basis for the Castleford Boy on a Buffalo pattern.

Both the prints on the Baskets contain in a more compact form the elements comprising the pattern,even down to the depiction of the legs of the buffalo.
