A charming watercolour of the picturesque village of Stokesby in the 19th Century. A man can be seen fishing from a boat with two working wherries laden with cargo such as malting barley and ale. In those days, the pleasure boats were very few and far between, but there were a great number of wherries plying their trade up and down the waterways.

This lovely watercolour has been in my own collection for over 50 years and is one of my favourite C H Harrison paintings. I am only selling this as I am in the process of purchasing a small flat with a sea view. A fine example.

Signed lower left, title label verso, presented within a glazed giltwood frame with cream mount.
