A colourful coaching chromolithographic print after Cecil Aldin entitled: Cheating the Toll. Published by Louis Meyer, The Black & White Gallery, 37 Old Bond Street. W. July 1900. The image depicts a coach racing through the gates to avoid pay the toll.

Louis Meyer helped Aldin to break into the print market by being one of the first to encourage him to design carriage and stagecoach pictures.

Cecil Aldin (1870 - 1935) was a prolific painter, not only did he paint the golfing scenes he also painted sensitive depictions of his dogs and scenes of hunting and racing. Aldin was the Master of the South Berkshire Hunt and was elected a member of the Royal Society of British Artists in 1898.
