There are substantial brass columns to the front on either side, with lacquered blocks above terminating in brass ball finials, .there is also a third finial to the top of the clock and brass and silk backed frets to the sides. The clock is signed both on the back-plate and the painted dial, which has Roman numerals. To the top of it is chime/silent to one side and a selection hand for the tunes to be played to the other. These are:- “Tell me when”; “Gallop Gustaves;” “Huntsmans chorus”; “Bonnets of Blue”; “Come to me” and “My Pretty Page”.
The massive movement, with anchor escapement, is most impressive. It chimes the quarters on eight bells and plays one of six tunes at the hour or when the repeat cord is pulled, employing 12 bells.
Height overall 20" (76 cms.)
