Clovis Edmond Masson (1838 -1913). A dramatic bronze study of ' Panthere avec serpent'. The muscular panther fighting off the powerful serpent. Masson has succeeded in capturing the movement of this ferocious struggle between the two creatures, creating a study of immense intensity and presence.

Clovis Edmond Masson (1838 - 1913) was born in Paris, France March 7th 1838. A pupil of Antoine Louis Barye.
From 1867, he became a regular exhibitor at the Salon, and by 1909, he had 52 seperate sculptures accepted for exhibition. Like Barye, many of his works depict wild animals, ranging from single animal to elaborate studies of beasts in battle.
