From left to right:
A Victorian silver gilt claret jug, Lawson and Co. Glasgow, 1899. Hallmarked on the foot-rim. With scroll, swag and floral chaste decoration; both cartouches empty; no inscriptions; fluted neck and Rococo spout, with C-scroll cast acanthus handle.
Size 33cm high x 12cm wide x 14cm deep.
An early Victorian silver claret Jug, Marshall and Sons. Edinburgh, 1838. Hallmarked on the neck. With a Neo Classical acanthus body on dome-spreading foot, with applied cast rose and foliate neck, S-scroll acanthus handle with cast flower head finial. Size 35cm x 18cm x 14cm deep.
A large Victorian silver claret jug, John Muirhead and Son, Glasgow, 1848. Hallmarked on the neck. Of magnum size with chased floral and scroll body, flat chased decoration, Rococo decoration at the neck, with s-scroll acanthus handle and cast foliate finial. The front of the body is engraved with full armorial.
Size 34cm high x 17cm wide x 13cm deep.
An early Victorian Neoclassical silver Claret Jug. Sheffield, 1838. Hallmarked on the spout. There is a presentation inscription on the body to Donald MacFarlane Esquire, Callandar – ‘A small tribute of gratitude for his guardianship of the family of the late Peter MacLaren. Middleton, 1842.’ With cast grape and vine neck handle and finial.
Size 32cm high x 17cm wide x 11cm deep.
A Victorian water jug. Sheffield, 1899. Hallmarked on the neck. With applied foliate pendant swags and foliate border, with wicker-wrapped raffia handle; hinged spout with plain finial.
