The clock rests on a circular black stone base on which rests a circular gilded one. Above is a blued ring with cut-outs in it and on top of this is a concave gilded brass column from the front of which hangs a compass. Above this is a section around which blued steel wire has been wrapped. The next circular section contains the clock and to the front and back of this are attractively represented ships wheels which rotate too and fro with the clock. To the centre of the front one is the clock dial.
To the top are mounted two horns and between them is a blued and gilded chimney. Mounted on front of this is a thermometer.
Height 17" (43cms). £16,500.
