This well-moulded piece depicts the rather curious subject of a cherub holding a pickaxe and sitting on a coal wagon, his back resting against the small bocage (with leaves intact) trunk. The fingers and toes, the pickaxe blades, all appear intact and, but for a small firing crack, this could be a perfect figure! Since Kaendler at the Meissen factory, the cherub has been depicted in many guises.
Very good, no apparent damage excepting the small firing crack to the inner base.
