The present clock has a 5" convex enamelled dial with Roman numerals for the hours and arabics for the minutes. Fine fire gilt hands are employed. Silk suspension is used with regulation being provided above 12 o'clock. The very substantial movement, with circular plates and a large external count-wheel, strikes the hours and halves on a bell .It is boldly signed around the periphery of the lower half of the backplate H Du Le Roy, Paris No 4198
The reclining figure on top and the clock itself are supported by two cherubs sitting on goats. Let into the front and sides of the white marble base are gilded panels depicting a procession including a chariot and people carrying musical instruments, flags, etc.
