The single train chain fusee movement, which completely fills the case, employs a lever escapement with compensated balance. The back-plate is boldly signed S. Wilde, 8 Barford
Street, Islington, No 1862, which gives some idea of the pride he took in his new creation.
The carrying handle is virtually the same as those used by Dent on several of his carriage clocks, which makes one wonder if Wilde supplied Dent with some of his carriage clocks.
