The case has a bell-top with carrying handle. To the top of the case are four finials and the corners are canted, grooved and brass strung. The sides have silk backed brass frets. The glazed front door has three silk backed and gilded frets, and the top and the border around the break-arch dial is bounded by a brass mould. The clock rests on a brass covered mould with shallow bracket feet.
The brass flat topped break arch dial has a silvered chapter ring with Roman numerals interspersed by half hour marks. Floral spandrels are employed. There are 2 subsidiary dials at the top of the main dial, one for strike/silent and the other for chime selection. Below these dials is the name plaque - Goldsmiths Company, 112 Regent Street, London.
