Very rare! In the book by Ray and Lee Grover it is written that whenever you get the chance to find a Dammouse, you should take it. Page 70: " His pieces are highly prized, and while it is normal to insist upon undamaged examples in the glass field, it is difficult to discard any of his work , broken or not." As the objects are so thin and light it is hardly impossible to find an undamaged piece. As you can see this one has been restored and I didn't mind. I was so glad to have found it and to hold for the first time in my life an original Dammouse in my hands. To touch it and look at it, is wonderful. It must be so hard to make such a piece so thin and so full of details. Just another example of almost the same pattern in The Paris salons 1895-1914, page 111. |

Worked till he was fifty years old for Sevres, the porzellan factory. Then started to work for himself with glass, especially pate de verre.
