A fine, large Derby porcelain jug, c. 1780. The jug having a rib moulded neck, large sparrow beak spout, and simple strap handle. Painted in the manner of Edward Withers, with large sprays of flowers to the body, and smaller sprigs to the neck. 'Smiths Blue' borders, heightened with a gilt flowerhead motif.
Painted puce mark to the base.
Two chips to the footrim. Otherwise in perfect condition. No cracks. No restoration.
