Emile Louis Picault was a sculptor and born in Paris on 24th August 1833 and he died there in 1915.
He studied under Royer and exhibited from 1863 to 1909.
The abundant work of this sculptor appeared regularly at the Salon starting in 1863 and included allegories, warriors, figures exalting patriotic virtue (often accompanied by Latin or French mottoes), heroes and some historic or mythological personages.

Picault became one of Frances most eminent sculptors.

His work can be found in the Museums of Chambery, Clermont-Ferrand and Maubeuge.
