Very fine quality early 19th Century inlaid mahogany Stick Barometer, with 'break-arch' pediment over very unusual adjustable hygrometer set into quarter-fan veneered panel over well-engraved silvered brass register plate, signed by the maker, bearing mercury Fahrenheit thermometer, manually operated vernier slide and protected by glazed door in satinwood with ebony bead. The trunk, edge- moulded, 'herringbone' veneered with “rope-effect" banding, and terminating in original turned cistern cover, inset with ebony and ivory roundel.
