Watercolour on card in original oval gilt wood frame, signed E W Thompson 1834, indistinct address "69 Bromley Lane"?
E W Thompson c1770-1847 - Described by Ottley as "an English portrait painter of considerable practice". He worked for several years in Paris where he was highly regarded. He supervised Edward Walmseley's Physiognomical Portraits, published 1824. He exhibited portraits and miniatures at the Royal Academy (9) 1832-9. He died in Lincoln in 1847 aged 77 years.
