Early 18th-century limewood group of a hunting scene. One man is riding a horse, his cape billowing out behind him, his dog following, while another huntsman stands by the horse's head blowing a helical horn, the forerunner of the modern orchestral horn.

Carving is 3 dimensional with a hollowed-out back.

The group is perhaps a bozzetto, or model, for another piece of sculpture in a different medium.

Right fore-arm of rider missing; other minor losses.
