In faded oak, the circular boarded top above a serpentine shape apron, raised on block and turned legs joined by a rare tri-form arrangement with turned stretchers meeting in the centre and joined by a concave-sided triangular centre block, platform or disc stretcher. On original turned toes.

It was discovered that a small topped table, is more secure balanced on three feet only, which ensured a wobble-free stance and greater stability on uneven floors. Framed tables of this type are generally termed ‘cricket’ tables, presumably in deference to the three-legged stools of the same name.
Bibliography: See Victor Chinnery, 'Oak Furniture: The British Tradition' (Antique Collectors’ Club Ltd, 1990), p.297 for an illustration of an English cricket table with a tri-form stretcher arrangement centred by a turned disc or roundel, p. 297, figure 3:183.
