A good early English mahogany dial clock of traditional pegged case form. It has a thin outer turned wooden rim and a very heavy cast bass stepped shaped bezel. The convex dial is signed by the maker, W. Kirk of Stroud. The 8 day fusee movement has shaped plates an anchor escapement and a large brass bob pendulum with a shaped rod. A William Kirk is listed as working in 1856, although this may well be the next generation.
The case has been repolished, the movement has been serviced in our own workshops and is guaranteed for 12 months.The original bezel lock is not present,
