An early 19th century continental mahogany sewing or needlework box.
The box has a domed lid that has flamed mahogany and rosewood cross banding, while the interior has a lift out fitted tray to hold sewing instruments and threads.
The compartment below the tray is to hold materials and ribbons, while the front of the box has an arcaded recessed panel and stands on brass ball feet.
The box is in good condition with a small chip to the lid. (Circa 1840)
