This is an early 19th century Regency antique twin pedestal dining table made from single sheets of the finest South American mahogany. The top has a very interesting grain pattern with elements of plum pudding in the grain pattern. The edge is triple reeded and the whole piece has attained a good deep colour and patination. The colour has faded to a wonderful golden brown and is a world away from the red mahogany of the later Victorian period. The base is slender and elegant with finely turned columns, a delicate Regency knee and good long outstretched four splay legs. The pillar support combined with the lack of frieze means that there is lots of leg room for supper guests. This table can be extended further than the measurements given below by the addition of another leaf, please ask for details.
