A 17th century bronze skillet, the handle cast with the makers name, Edward Rumens, and the date, 1698.

According to Roderick and Valentine Butler in their seminal catalogue of 2003, Edward and Thomas Rumens are likely to have originated in the Tunbridge Wells area. They record a similar skillet with the handle inscription EDWARD RUMENS 1697, as sold at Bruton Knowles in 1976, part of the A.T. Isher Collection, and subsequently at Sotheby's, Littlecote House.
