Item Description / Dealer Expertise
An Edwardian gilt metal barometer and thermometer.
The barometer is in the style of a ships wheel, which turns to move the pointer to the barometric pressure of the day. The barometer has a silvered dial with the curved thermometer fitted below. The ships wheel support has a gilt metal plate that reads "Atkey & Sons Cowes" who were ship chandlers at Cowes on the Isle of Wight.
The barometer and thermometer are in working order, the gilt metal is a little discoloured. (Circa 1900)
