Old handwritten inscription on the reverse: Prinzessin von Liechtenstein vermuthlich die Lori Schwarzenberg. Signiert R.Th. Robert Theer (Princess of Liechtenstein presumably Lori Schwarzenberg. Signed R.Th. Robert Theer)

Eleonore (1812-1873) was the daughter of Moritz Josef Prinz von und zu Liechtenstein (1775-1819). In 1830 she married Johann Adolf II, Fürst zu Schwarzenberg (1799-1888). One of their seats was at Český Krumlov. Inspired by several visits to England with her husband she remodelled their baroque palace Hluboká in the style of the English Tudor Gothic.

A lithograph portrait of her dated 1836 by Josef Kriehuber is at the Albertina in Vienna (Wurzbach Werkverzeichnis Kriehuber no. 2050)
