A very rare English pearlware pottery bust probably representing Queen Charlotte the wife of King George 111. The head is modelled on a square base which is decorated with green and yellow enamels..
The rendition of the head is very naive and striking with strong defintion. Queen Charlotte was a very interesting character (1744-1818) she founded Kew Gardens, bore 15 children (13 of whom survived to adulthood), and was a patron of the arts.

professionally restored to break at neck with base and some enamels re-touched..
