A fine and rare turners "Throwne" chair of unusually sophisticated form this solid fruitwood example is in exceptional original condition and has a richly burnished surface and lovely colour. The turned rear uprights terminate in elegant and well defined turned finials and the front uprights have bold ball finials which form the hand rests. The plank seat is socketed into the turned seat rails, which along with all the other component parts are decoratively turned and socketed into each other. A fine and original example of the highest integrity, with direct provenance to a respected Private Collection.
