Three generations of the Freeman family, Jeremiah and several Williams, worked at various addresses in Norwich from the late 18th century, although their cleverly designed label gave the impression that they were also in London. Describing themselves as 'Carvers, Gilders & Looking Glass Manufacturers' they also had an extensive business as household furnishers with a distinguished clientele. The form and wording of this label suggests a date between 1809 and 1821.
