Fine George III period satinwood and mahogany work-table with a finely-figured quarter-veneered and cross-banded top, on an octagonal tapered and reeded shaft with splayed legs and delicate turned feet. The oval box has been recovered in swagged green moire fabric following the illustration of a similar 'Lady's Work Table' in Thomas Sheraton's 'The Cabinet-Maker and Upholsterer's Drawing Book' (1791 - 94)
