Having a rectangular flame mahogany quarter veneered breakfronted top enclosed by a mahogany crossband above two oak lined break-fronted drawers with fine gilt ormolu banding, wreath ring handles and escutcheons with shaped apron having applied central cartouche, each drawer being vennered in flame mahogany banded with boxwood inlay and tulipwood.
Having paneled sides and each front corner with ornate gilt ormolu casting this well proportioned chest of drawers / commode stands on shaped cabriole legs terminating on finely gilt ormolu sabots.
In excellent condition having been restored using traditional methods with all the ormolu in original cleaned condition this fine commode has a wonderful colour with a very imposing presence that will complement any stately home or manor.
