Fine Regency Mahogany Pembroke Table
c. 1820 England
Offered by Peacock's Finest
English, c. 1820
The table features a beautifully grained and gently patinated mahogany top, crossbanded in rosewood and strung with boxwood, with reeded edge and two drop leaves, supported by four swinging brackets. There are cock beaded faux drawers on either side, above ebonised reeded stringing to the bottom edge of the frieze. This fine Pembroke table is raised on four elegant turned and reeded legs - signature of Gillows - terminating in original brass cup castors. The timber has developed a fantastic colour with beautiful grain and desirable patina. The table is beautifully presented in very good original condition, is clean, sturdy in joint, free of woodworm and has no major damage or visible signs of repairs or alterations.
