With a spiral and cross hatched pattern on a whalebone stem, a sperm whale ivory finial with a baleen inlaid collar

WE ARE ALWAYS LOOKING FOR EXCEPTIONAL WHALEBONE / NARWHAL WALKING CANES
These walking sticks were never used on board a whale ship but they were a popular item for the scrimshanders to make. Both useful and ornamental they were made as keepsakes for family members at home or to sell to quay side traders on the whalers return to port.
