Kreutzinger was a miniaturist who was under the influence of Friedrich Heinrich Fuger whose works this resembles.

Francis was a son of Emperor Leopold II (1747–1792) and his wife Maria Luisa of Spain (1745–1792), daughter of Charles III of Spain. Before 1804 he was Francis II of Germany. He was the Apostolic King of Hungary and Bohemia as Francis I and served as the first president of the German Confederation following its establishment in 1815. Francis was the father of Marie-Louise who became the second wife of Napoleon in 1810.
