Elegant early 19th Century mahogany Stick Barometer in essentially original condition; with arched top over silvered brass register plate classically engraved, signed by the maker and bearing manually-operated vernier slide. The finely patinated trunk, edge moulded, with book-matched veneers, and with original exposed barometer tube terminating within hemispherical cistern cover.


A noted London based instrument maker, with consistently high quality output, who acquired the illustrious Adams business. He worked from premises successively in Rupert St., 83 Fleet St. and Strand from c1825-49.
