French Champleve mantel clock standing on toupe feet with a raised, stepped plinth, turned columns with Corinthian capitals decorated with sky blue champlevé enamel supporting a pagoda style pediment with four flambeau finials.

The sides also decorated with sky blue enamel, silvered dial mask supporting the two and a half inch dial with Roman numerals.

Eight day movement with platform escapement numbered 4453 and marked ‘E.M. and Co’ striking the hours and halves on a coiled gong. C.1890

E Maurice and Co are listed as working from Rue Charlot 75, Paris in the late nineteenth century. The company specialised in enamel and unusual dial work. They exhibited at the Paris exhibition of 1889
