An early 19th century French first standard silver-gilt set of 6 Dessert Spoons and Forks, fiddle thread and shell pattern, Paris, circa 1825. The spoons and forks by Bazile Chenaillier. In a contemporary (damaged) case together with a Sugar Sifting Spoon, thread edged, Paris circa 1825, by an un-ascribed maker. Each piece engraved with contemporary script initials 'LMC'.
The dimensions for the pieces are as follows: the gross weight of spoons and forks is 718.10 gms.; the length of the spoons is 18.20cm and 4 cm wide; the forks 17.70 cm. long and 2.40cm wide. The sifter spoon weighs 67.50 gms.and is 22.20cm. long and 6.40cm wide.
The silver-gilt pieces very good condition. Wear to the leather covering of the case and the case clasps defective.
