Ormolu figure of Diana the huntress seated on fluted marble column, circa 1900.

This clock has wonderful colour, from the green marble to the beautifully executed ormolu figure of Diana. It has a miniature timepiece movement with its' original platform escapement allowing it to behave like a carriage clock.

Diana, holding her bow is seated atop a fluted marble column. The clock dial has a delicate floral garland, Arabic numerals and spade hands.

Diana was the Roman goddess of the Hunt, the moon and birthing. She had the power to control and even talk to animals. She was the twin sister of Apollo and the daughter to Jupiter and Latona. The image of Diana was a very popular image on clocks.

This graceful miniature clock would look beautiful on a small mantelpiece or console or side table.

Carol and I personally select our stock items and each is fully also fully mechanically restored by us, ensuring that every clock is sold in working order. If you like this beautiful clock with Diana, we would be delighted to hear from you.
