George II, Royal Family Medal, silver medal, 1732, by J. Croker & J. Tanner, profile busts of George 11 and Queen Caroline facing, GEORGIUS 11 REX ET CAROLINA REGINA MDCCXXXII, rev. busts of the seven children of George 11 with Frederick, Prince of Wales in the centre, FELICITAS IMPERII, (THE HAPPINESS OF THE KINGDOM), 69 mm (MI 500/47; Woolf 44/1)). Surface marks, otherwise good very fine and rare, especially in silver.

This medal is very much part of the medallic war which was taking place between the Jacobites and the Hanoverians. In 1731 the Old Pretender had issued his medal by the Hamerani's in Rome trumpeting the credentials of his two children, Charles and Henry. George's reply was this, twice the size, showing the seven offspring of the established order.
The medal was issued by George to be given to foreign dignitaries.
