A superb early 18th century walnut veneered cabinet on chest, the upper section with two burr walnut doors enclosing a bank of twelve drawers of various sizes and retaining their original engraved plate handles. The lower section has a long upper secretaire drawer which has a stepped interior and drawers. Below the secretaire there are a further two short and two long drawers set above the four restored walnut bun feet.

The original linings to all the drawers are in oak and retain their engraved plate brass handles.

* It is very rare to find early 18th century pieces of walnut furniture in such original condition. This piece is of exceptional quality and would have been made in one of the top London Cabinet Workshops of the period. In addition to its wonderful proportions, the cabinet makers have only used the very best burr walnut veneers, crossbanding and herringbone inlays.
