An early English silver cream jug having a pitcher shape with shaped scroll handle and a small spreading foot. Small size silver cream jugs without lids were only introduced in the 1720’s so this is probably one of the earliest silver cream jugs ever made. Excellent colour. Contains 100 ml. Weight 94 grams, 3 troy ounces. Height 8 cms. Spread 8 cms. London 1726. Maker probably John Gorsuch.
This charming jug is in very good condition with damage or no restoration. Excellent colour. Good clear marks, the makers mark is only partially stamped. The base of the handle is slightly pushed in on the inside (see photo). This little jug has a smooth surface and the colour is the original silver colour all over - the effects in the photo are due to the bulbous shape which causes extreme reflection.

Please note that this item is not new and will show moderate signs of wear commensurate with age. Reflections in the photograph may detract from the true representation of this item.
