A handsome antique sterling silver sauceboat, or cream boat, with typical classic shape and plain styling of the period. Dainty size. Uninscribed. Weight 135 grams, 4.3 troy ounces. Spread 25 cms. Height 9 cms (to top of handle). Top measures 12 x 8 cms. London 1748. Maker Samuel Meriton I.
This lovely sauce boat is in good condition with no damage or restoration. Stamped on the base with a full set of English silver hallmarks. Inside the bowl there is some slight bruising where the feet have been applied.
